While the school building survived, the demographic change forced the school's closure and consolidation with Bishop Ready High School in 1964. The construction of Ohio State Route 315 damaged the neighborhood and almost caused the school building to be destroyed. The Great Flood of 1913 devastated the area, flooding the recently-completed building's basement, but providing safety for locals in its upper floors. The fortress-like building has Romanesque Revival architecture, including decorative parapets. The museum was located in the former Holy Family School in Franklinton until 2019. The museum was founded in 1998 at the prompting of bishop James Griffin in honor of the Great Jubilee declared by Pope John Paul II for the year 2000, leading to the original name of the institution, the Jubilee Museum.
